Official Release — DJ Ricardo MZ

DJ Ricardo MZ is an electronic music artist from São Paulo, Brazil, whose journey began during the rise of the city's club culture and underground electronic scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

His passion for music started in 1989 when he experienced Flash House for the first time at the legendary Toco Dance Club in Vila Matilde. That moment sparked a lifelong connection with electronic music and the art of DJing. Among his early influences was Information Society, whose distinctive sound helped shape his musical vision and inspire his path into electronic culture.

In 1992, Ricardo MZ officially began his career as a DJ, developing a style rooted in Techno and Tech House while remaining connected to the energy of the dancefloor and the continuous evolution of electronic music.

Throughout his career, he has been connected to several important venues that helped define São Paulo’s electronic scene, including Toco Dance Club, Overnight, Sound Factory, Factory Santo André, State Vila Olímpia, Subway Penha, Toko Brasil, Freeday São Miguel, Calabouço Guaianases and Magnólia Tatuapé, among others that contributed to his artistic development.

During the 1990s and early 2000s, Ricardo MZ was also involved with several independent and pirate radio stations, including Ativa FM, Estilo FM, Nova Frequência FM, Radical FM, Clube FM, Mistura FM and Nova Onda FM. These experiences strengthened his connection with electronic music broadcasting and underground radio culture.

Over the years, he participated in important underground projects such as U.S.P. – Underground Street Party and Revival Underground Party – Sound Of Lovers, initiatives that helped promote and strengthen São Paulo’s independent electronic music movement.

One of the most significant chapters of his career was his participation in the creation of FuseWebRadio, a project developed by a group of friends passionate about electronic music. The station was created to promote multiple styles of underground electronic music, including Techno, House, Drum and Bass, Jungle, Hardcore and many other influences that helped shape generations of DJs and listeners.

At FuseWebRadio, he was one of the members of the Duplo Impacto radio show alongside DJ Andrey Santos. The partnership became known for its energetic B2B (back-to-back) performances, bringing their Techno-driven sets both to the station’s programming and to underground electronic music events.

Currently, Ricardo MZ is part of the Power Mix program, broadcast through Canal DJ on YouTube, while also returning to the FuseWebRadio programming schedule, returning to a project he helped build from its very beginning. At the same time, he continues to expand his work as a music producer, developing original productions and new electronic music projects.

With more than three decades dedicated to electronic music culture, DJ Ricardo MZ remains active in the scene, preserving the spirit of the underground movement, club culture and independent radio that have been part of his journey since the very beginning.
